These creatures are rather known as Anthroplods, these creatures are either created through a parasitic infection whereas the host is interlinked with the parasites DNA, or due to airborne or liquid substances the parasites release. The parasites are generated from genetic modifications and experiments on parasites that feed on bacteria/waste, centipedes, worms, etc. These experiments originally began in attempts to find the source to creating a super-parasite as they had called it, one that could experience the genetic modification and have higher life expectancy, better quality and more sufficient feeding. The tests advanced before the mixed chemicals caused a reaction, causing these critters to evolve over time as the scientists (calling them this to avoid spoilers) continued research on these creatures cautiously, due to the fact that these were parasites actually EVOLVING. They acknowledged that this could indicate towards the growth of parasites. There were no bad intentions behind this, only bad executions.
The ones infected by the regular parasites are called Anthroplods, they walk slowly and heavily. The generic parasite is not used to controlling it's host yet, so the least they can do is direct the body into plod. Meaning if you keep distance, you'll really be safe. They actually have arms but I'm making variants with and without arms. Another spine variant will actually be blinded. The spines will grow through the retina due to the genetic mutation and connection between that specific area and the infecting parasite. That red thing in the stomach is of course... The parasite. The weak spot. Can't kill them until you either destroy the parasite or all it's limbs so they can't be controlled any further. But of course the parasite will detach itself to find another target if you only dismember the host. The veins on the arms are more visual because of the parasitic attachment leaching off the upper body, essentially taking the body's nutrients and using the host's body to function more properly to it's advantage to keep it growing, healthy and strong. The veins grew more visual as a result of the connection not to mention the upper body augmentations, the parasitic DNA being transmitted through the bloodstream.
The ones with oddly specific leg designs or missing legs are because of the parasite leaching off the lower body. While the upper body transformations resemble a more humane state, strength is augmented but in sacrifice of speed and basic intelligence due to the infection of the brain the parasite lays dormant in. The lower body transformations specialize in other abilities such as increased speed, augmented leg strength with can assist in long ranged leaps or even spiked tentacles engulfed around the legs if the mutation is nailed.
1) A creature that grows scales and spines throughout vital regions of it's body post infection. It's specialization is speed, but it is rather easy to hit vital areas and disable or kill the host due to the lack of protection from it's parasite, not to mention the visibility between vital areas due to the scales and abnormal mutation in spines growing throughout those areas, specifically because these areas were the most augmented from the parasite in order to receive greater speed and endurance. The parasite leaves it's host after infection due to it's risks and lack of protection that can risk the parasite being injured in the process, not to mention how unstable the infection is due to lack of required support from the body itself.
2) Another creature that is rather controlled by the parasite, whether the parasite transfers from bodies into the host or scouts on it's own, it will travel through the mouth, or even eye. It connects itself to the brain, as this parasite spreads itself across the user's interior (skull), injecting their sharp sting ray into the brain and allowing themselves to control the user singlehandedly. The user remains at it's exact strength and speed as before, no augmentations are done. This is the most simple and easy infection due to the lack of augmentations and mutations required. This infection depends on the type of parasite and the user.
4) Another type of parasite is different from the others. Rather than manually injecting/infecting a user, it will release a toxin from itself. A very strong and poisonous toxin that can either grow airborne or be shot at a user. It causes the immune system to decay over time, until the user eventually dies and the toxin remains collected in their bodies, preferably their stomach. If the user is used as a host before or after death, the mutation with toxins will allow these creatures to release a similar, burning spittle that can be used to damage a user, lower the immune system or even infect/kill another user due to it's strong toxins. These can either be shot at a user, or be absorbed through airborne gas. They can fire these out of their mouth, or release the gas from their pores. These creatures have a great ranged accuracy due to their ability to fire ranged spittle. They should be killed with caution, because if shot/punctured in the wrong area such as the stomach, it will release the toxin due to the leaking. This is rather the fat biler you see.
These aren't finished, I will be improving and adding more along the way along with more variants rather than just Anthroplods. Let me know what you want next. Would you rather me continue these and make more, including variants and gore (which I will include next time), or just my OC in the Project Landfall base? Whatever you want me to do, I will. You can use these in your animations if you want, just please credit the source if they're in your series at any point. You will notice that some aspects were inspired from Dead Space, such as the crawler and the name "Anthromorphs", "Anthro" representing a humanoid aspect or what others would normally assume as furries when they see the words, hence why I named these ANTHROS.
