The giant, early cretaceous brachyopoid temnospondyl amphibian! in the family chigutisauridae, fossils have been found in victoria, australia and date back to 120 Ma to the aptian stage of the early cretaceous.

Koolasuchus is the youngest known temnospondyl. it is known from several fragments of the skull and other bones such as the vertbrae, ribs and pectoral elemants. the type koolasuchus cleelandi was named in 1997.
