The Mat-49 was utilized in indochina extensively and found it’s ways into the early armaments of the Vietminh and later Vietcong as old French weaponry utilized in the 50’s to 60’s, though more modern firearms such as the SKS, and later AK47 became more mainstream within the ranks of the guerilla fighters and PAVN.
