Insert Jojo reference here. Also the Dragon Ball series for sure because that's what started it all. My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Dr. Stone too. Non-anime (kinda) however, the Avatar series (ATLA and Korra) too. |
| Favorite non-animated show |
Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones. House gets an honorable mention. |
| Favorite movie |
Not much of a movie person, idk. I did force myself to watch the Marvel movies and they weren't bad to be honest so, yeah, Endgame I guess. |
| Favorite video game |
I don't play much of anything so in terms of nostalgia there's Tomba 1 and 2, Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter among others. The original Genesis Sonic games are up there too. |
| Favorite food |
Orange chicken but, like, not the authentic kind. More like the sugar-chicken version where it just rots your teeth away as you eat it. |
| Ralph started making Stick Nodes one day because he was bored. He grew up practically addicted to a stickfigure-animation program called Pivot which sparked his interest in both animation and game development.
Eventually he got into Flash animation and Flash game development. He released quite a few games into the Flash gaming community, check out his portfolio for links.
Once mobile devices started taking over, he moved over to attempt Android games. After a few failed attempts, he released Plunder Peril - a quick 2-3 week project that was meant as Android-development practice.
After Plunder Peril, Ralph began work on Stick Nodes and in August 2014, Stick Nodes was released on Android with the iOS version following in November. Stick Nodes is built in Java with the LibGDX framework and uses RoboVM to port to iOS.
Fast forward to March 2020 when he was revising this page and he honestly can't believe Stick Nodes is still going so strong. Onward to world domination...
Fast forward again to August 2023 and really, I haven't been cancelled yet? |

| Sean is the site administrator and creator of the stickfigure submission system as well as a majority of the DBZ stickfigures. He also has a funny accent.
At around age 12 he discovered Pivot, ended up on Droidz.org looking for stickfigures to use in his animations, got fairly good after about 2 years.
He decided to make a website to host his animations on after having been on the forums for a long time. That's what got him into webdesign since the first iteration of his website was a terrible looking flash-based thing that at the time he thought was the best thing out.
After a while he realized how stupid it looked and behaved. So he looked into HTML and CSS, got it looking slightly better but it wasn't until he found WordPress that it started looking decent.
After that he went off the grid for a bit, got his Cert IV in IT and Webdesign, cemented his understanding of the internet protocols.
Lately he's been helping out around the Stick Nodes community and has been managing Animation Alpha. He's also been looking into game development and has begun a project that he hopes to finish one day soon, he can't really reveal anything about it but it's for mobile devices and will be a 2D sidescroller. |

Days random thing.
Why did no one tell me the Recent Comments page wasn’t showing the recent comments for anything other than the “official” pages like About Us/FAQs/etc?
Why.
I fixed it now.
I didn’t even noticed since most of the time I have cache issues on the website.
Lol.
That particular page is never cached.
Also once you make a comment, I believe you’re flagged as not being served cached pages anymore, so I’m not sure why people keep having issues.
However, I personally have issues lately with my local cache.
Aka I go to look at a comment, but it’s not there. I click “refresh” (and as a result my browser cache is cleared) and the comment appears. Maybe this is what’s going on with everyone else? But they just never click “refresh”?
I have the same problem too, I need to refresh to see a comment.
But what happens if you set the main pages as uncached? Is it going to explode or something? Because it could slightly help while browsing through the website. Especially for the stickfigure page, sometimes I think there’s no new stickfigures but there are.
I clear the cache of the stickfigure page as soon as I upload them.
That’s what I’m getting at though, it has nothing (I think) to do with the cache plugin I’m using. If you can “clear” the cache with a refresh (me too), it’s not server-caching it has to be local.
Plus like I said, when you make a comment you’re marked as not receiving cached pages anymore, so it’s as if the caching is disabled for you.
Basically this is why I’m not a webdev 🙂
For example, view the page’s source (if you know how, idk on mobile) and the very last line at the bottom should be a comment like:
Dynamic page generated in 0.689 seconds.
Page not cached by WP Super Cache.
I can’t see it on phone, but I noticed that the website works perfectly fine on my pc, so it’s my phone’s fault.
Now, I don’t know how to fix this, I checked in every settings, I can’t seem to find anything about cache.
So the recent comments page is kinda weird on my phone, even without a cache, it still loads old comments.

That is weird. I’m trying to figure out why but there’s really nothing left for me to do. Especially since that page is never cached lol.
I just checked on my phone and also with another browser with a completely cleared cache and it’s real-time.
I assume you clicked the refresh button in your browser while there? Nothing happened? I can only guess your phone browser app is super cache-happy but I’m not sure.
Well, I’m refreshing pretty much everywhere to make sure I’m not missing anything.
I tried with both bowsers I use, Chrome, firefox and the default on my phone, they all have the same cache problem.
But if it only occurs to me, just don’t mind it, I’ll get used to it and you shouldn’t worry for one single person. Now, if it occurs with other users…

Days random things.
Why do I always have amazon/cdiscount ads on the website
Like come on, just because I bought Ratchet 3 I have ads for Bowser Amiibos and freakin Banjo kazooie nuts and bolts.
Sometimes I get ads for ps2 games.
I cannot resist that, but most of the time there are games I already own.
I get ads for free minecraft and not Russian ladies on this site. I have no idea why, I never search anything or look at anything like that
You get ads for *not* Russian ladies?
Too bad.
I get ads for Java. and sonic boom action figures. a whole lot of sonic boom action figures, why Ralph.
I get ads for mobile app development.
…sounds about right.
Ralph? mobile game developement? No, never
Days random thing:
I got this

“Figurine en Vinyl” french spotted.
I like this one, but I prefer amiibos though.

Why is there 2 bowser ones?
There-‘s the Mario Party Amiibo and the Smash Bros Amiibo. That’s why there’s 2 Bowser.
Wait those are Bowsers? I thought they were Parappas.
If there’s a Parappa amiibo or something, I’ll definitely buy it. I heard they used to sell Parappa caps, and they could also give you one if you bought the game.
Damnit Ett
Okidoki
Ok I’ve been getting this problem for a long time, but I can’t take it anymore.
Ralph, why is it when I refresh the site, the new sticks for the day don’t appear, and when I click the next page it appears, then I click the first page it’s finally there, then I refreshed again, Gone! I know it’s really confusing…. It’s also really irritating… Sorry if I was disrespectful in this comment or smth, I just needed to get this out…
Complain you shall not because everyone have this issue. Don’t worry he’ll fix it soon.
… i hope
ITs a mobile issue. I have it too
Here I am sitting with my mobile device (not logged in) and it’s all good. Sometimes I get a stale/old page, hit refresh, and it’s new.
What browsers are you guys using?
Safari
Not sure if you would remember, but how long has it sort of been like this? Before those days of constant “500 server error” pages?
To be honest, I’m not getting it anymore really. It’s stopped. But yeah, it was happening frequently during the 500 purge
Using Chrome and I constantly have to refresh, it started to happen more frequently after the 500 error madness.
Alright, I disabled a setting so let me know if anything is different these next 24 hours.
Seems to be fine so far, I don’t need to refresh anymore.
goodgood.jpg
Still the issue could be present, just let me know here if you notice it again.
Well it was fine for a day… Then suddenly something a lot weirder just happened. First, it was the sticks for April 10, clicked the next page, suddenly, it was April 12, then click back, April 13, clicked nect, April 13, clicked back, April 14. Is it my browser? @3@
I think this website is a puzzle game xD
Dude How do u make your animation slow but smooth
To make animations slow and smooth, do not make too much space between each frame, just slightly move the stickfigure at each frame.
When i do that, I need 40 fps and I see other people do it it’s like 24
Days random thing.
I’m FINALLy on holidays. I am finally free at last.
Our last class was english class and we could do anything we wanted to do.
So what I did is that I got up, took a marker and I wrote on the board “Sonic Heroes”. Half of the class was confused and my best friend was dying of laughter.
Yeah I’m weird.
its actually true, i went to english class with him to have a conversation with my old english teacher and he just randomly started to write Sonic heroes all over the board. he loves that game so much that he decided to let everyone know that.
Strange people you are
Correct he is
