It depends where you take it, most people assume if you practician a martial art, you must fight or spar constantly, whilst it can make you sharper and learn to apply your capabilities, you gotta question why and to what end. If you can do it for yourself and to learn and grow then that may be more sustainable long-term but of course, each to their own.

Doing extensive work towards the goal of achieving something great, especially within a sport, is incredibly challenging.
Times are changing and it’s not say if you were to dedicate to something you want to do you wouldn’t be appreciated and respected. The standards for what people choose to be proud of or take pride in will vary across each person and over the years so I’d honestly have to say you should focus on finding something you can love but something that provides lots of challenges and work hard at that. The respect and admiration will be dependent on what you put in, not just what you get out.

I practiced it for a while and had a lot of fun. I would probably like to get back into it, but I’ll most likely keep it as a hobby.
