Did some basic animation tests over the past few days. Slowly improving with the basics. Seeing Gigans walk test made me realize I didnβt actually learn/remember how to do it, so I made 2. I also have a longer test made but probably going to save that for another post.
Order of making these
Abeer walk
Pneuma idle
Scarlett walk
Jail idle -

I love it. You did an amazing job with all of them man. I especially like how you were able to turn some of these mass monsters like Riot and Alisdair into these more cute designs while still being accurate to the originals.

Iβve been planning to experiment with effects and finally decided to today. I have very little experience with effects so I figured why not stylize the effects to make them unique and easier to do. So Iβm thinking about now doing particle effects (elements like fire or water) with just basic shapes. I think that should help things stand out while still not being too complex. Plus could help plush that comic book feel a little more.
For some effects Iβd still put more time into crafting them wind for example. But for other effects I could simplify them into basic shapes, like with the soda here.

Iβm enjoying the updated splash screen. Itβs nice to see the update to date figures being used over the old ones from a few users ago. Next up is to update tiny flame on the background of the splash screen. Though I did realize Abeer is so tall her and her name plate are cut off thanks to the logo so may need to fix that.
Anyway, in terms of Corrupted news, currently dealing with the writing at the moment. 2 episodes have story beats laid out and I have the loose idea for episode 3. Iβm thinking the script for at least episode 1 will happen within a month or two.
I also made a female base and will make the male one soon. I also have a couple figures Iβd need for episode 1 so probably going to get on that soon, though all background/side characters.
And finally Iβm starting to draw out the front views and what theyβll look like. Iβm still experimenting to try and get it down in a way I like the look of. I havenβt attempted a front view in years so not sure how thatβs going to go

Current character line up, 25,741 nodes for everyone on screen.
Abeer, Riot, Pneuma, Lulu and Tony all have plans laid out for their use. Tony is a background character so heβs not very detailed, plus heβs just being used waist up. But the rest should all appear as normal.
Gyokuto due to some rewrites Iβm not sure how heβs going to be used, so thatβs to be determined.
Next up are the bases since I want to get more of the background characters made, which should help with the storyboard. Plus if I do get help with the series it would be good to have. I also have some other more important characters sketched out but Iβm not sure when theyβll appear or for how long so I want to hold off on them. I redid plans right after making Lulu so sheβs the last side character Iβll be making for a bit.

I finished Lulu yesterday afternoon, meaning she only took 4 days to make which is by far a record for me. Normally these figures take at least a 2 weeks so Iβm surprised at how quick this went. Plus sheβs likely the most accurate render to figure Iβve ever made, so Iβm impressed with how this turned out.
Included below is the figure, a random pose, and the render I did of her as a reference for me to the figure. I also made concept art of the figure but its not worth sharing.
Next up is likely a base or two before I start and any more characters.

Update on Lulu, I made the arms (but not the thumbs, thatβs later today). I may do some more adjustments like move them closer to the body and whatnot, but generally speaking theyβre done.
Now, the issue I suspected I would have it happening. Iβm going to have to remake the ruff and probably the skirt to allow the arms to go over her head. They can move using start stretch, but due to the size itβs just not enough and itβs starts breaking down before I can really make it work. So today will be spent fixing that and any other issues. Tomorrow should hopefully be the final day on the legs.
If anyone has any critiques or ideas with the figure Iβd love to hear it especially today while Iβll be working on that type of stuff.

Not a critique but you should plan your stuff a little, the more planning and brief stuff for designs etc just helps sooo much.

the semi-choppy style suits the vibe, and its likely necessary given the complexity of the characters
i honestly don’t really know how all these characters connect with each other but lol @ the jail scene
I actually found the characters do work well with smoother animation, and is honestly a little easier. Though I prefer the more choppy style since it rings similar to how anime is done, and I think looks a little nicer.
With the characters, green guy and pirate are the main characters, theyβre forced to interact with each other being in jail and sharing a cell. Egyptian lady is their mentor in the jail.
The other character is a remake I did of Scarlettβs character and due to how I made it, realized it smart stretches perfectly. So going to be using that sometimes until I fix the other figures.
I LOVE CHOPPY ANIMATION!!!!!!!
Very cool dude, It feels much more stylized and fits better with the characters in my opinion (might be personal bias but double/triple framed animation is just way cooler than eased/smooth animation).
