Curse of the dragon’s breath:
The curse is placed on someone if they are weak in the area of magic or have a low level of life energy. The curse is passed from mother or father to child every twenty-five years. It is believed that the curse originated around 500 years ago, even before the civil war began. This curse is known by many in the kingdom of Hickorry, simply as the Dragon’s breath or the Dragon’s Soul. This curse affects not only the host but those around them as well. If the host’s reserves of mana reaches a low point, the curse will absorb the life energy of any nearby entities to keep its host alive. This curse takes the mana and life force of others and absorbs it into as seal on the host’s body while also draining away at the host’s life force hence, the short lifespan of the hosts. However, the curse can sometimes be beneficial to its host as some have had the ability to use the curse’s life draining ability as a sort of weapon. This has the severe trade of potentially shortening the host’s life much faster than usual. It is currently believed that the curse is a very potent hex made by a dark magic user from long ago that was even beyond the class of King. As it is written in the sacred library in the book of potential chaos, the dark magic user may have been someone at the level of EMPEROR CLASS.
