On a more positive note, they can add him back in through a CGI remodel and an AI to replicate his voice.
The CGI remodel, well, they did it before on Star Wars, and that was almost exact, especially for the first try at something like that.
Then the voice replication. They won’t even need a voice-match. The AI only needs 5 seconds of audio to get it almost perfectly, but they have a ton of audio (an entire movie and some stuff from the other movies).
On an even happier note, they can do the same thing with Stan Lee.
