(Edit: March 14th, this update has been pushed out to Android users, too.)
There. Now all of you iOS users can stop bothering me. Here’s that “sounds” update you all wanted to much.
Go check out the App Store and look for an update to Stick Nodes and Stick Nodes Pro!
So what does this mean?
Well, for one, iOS users are now actually a version ahead of Android users. How did that happen!? (Android users you’ll be getting 1.6.3 in a day or two, though it doesn’t introduce much other than some fixes and some added sound effects).
iOS 1.6.3 changelog
- SOUNDS have been added to the Pro version! Also included are a bunch of sound clips to get you started right away! Look under “Frame Tools”.
- Exporting GIFs and MP4s no longer locks up your device.
- Added an option to display onion skin on top (will help when animating stickfigures in front of other stickfigures). Look under “Project Tools”.
- Removed “Play” and “Stop” buttons from under “Animation Tools”, use the buttons to the right of the frame thumbnails instead.
- Added functionality to permanently delete projects, stickfigures, and sounds off of your device from within the app.
- Open/import lists are now always alphabetized.
- Fix for potential crashes when saving large projects/stickfigures.
- Fix for when a stickfigure wouldn’t save properly.
- Fix for when MP4 export would crash if exported at odd-numbered dimensions.
- Fix for potential weird color artifacts in MP4 exports.
- Many other minor tweaks and fixes.
So there you have it, iOS users can now go create animations just like this one I made announcing 1.6.0 all those months ago!
Can’t wait to see what you guys make. If you upload to Youtube, make sure to include the words “Stick Nodes” somewhere in the title/description so I can find your stuff!
Have fun!
What’s next?
Well, I have to get the Android version of 1.6.3 out. That will take just a day or so though.
After that, I’ll probably take a few days off of Stick Nodes stuff to explore some ideas I have for a new game project. But don’t worry, I already have big plans for Stick Nodes 1.7.0!

Now i can make more detailed stickfigures.
Because i have a tablet WOOOOOOOOooooooOOOO.
You lucky
I HATE U NOW
Nice, what tablet do you have?
Probably you dont know.
İt was Vestel Vtab 7 lite 3 (7 inch version)
İt was a gift from my grandfather.
Vestel is turkish mark
İt makes good phones and tablets.
That’s great. Even from personal experience I know using Stick Nodes on my tablet rather than my phone is so much better of an experience, you can work a lot faster.
Ralph! There is an imposter in the server all the animators are in! http://youtu.be/3K6jdXLnj4E
Check that video out and follow the instructions. 😀 See you there!
It’s the real one. Good place though, go check it out everyone.
It MIGHT have been the real one.
Hello again, this time, I’m on my 3ds, and i’m surprised that it works very well. And this time the texts and stickfigures are too big lol.
But now it came to my mind that sticknodes on 3ds would be cool, but I don’t think you can do it.
What’s the touch screen like on a 3DS? Or does it even have one? (I’ve never even seen a 3DS before.)
There are 2 pannels, the one on the top makes sounds and there’s a screen that isn’t a touch screen. The one below is a touch screen that you touch with a stylus and there are buttons and a directional pad on the sides.
Also DS means Dual screen
wait
3DS
3dual screens? 3×2=6 omg illoominati cunfirmed
Oh yeah, I forgot about the two screens. I could probably make Stick Nodes for that but it would be a ton of work so nah lol.
RALPH! YOU ARE SO LAZY :3
I’m kidding. I know that it’s not that easy to do.
It’s been quite a long time since I comment
That’s funny, I saw you on Youtube just the other day and was like “I wonder where he disappeared to”.
Do you think you could make a record button to the sound effects part?
Probably not, sorry. I’m so done with sounds lol. Such a big technical challenge to get those implemented I’m looking forward to moving on to other things.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
What stickfigure should I make next guys?
I’d say a popular one would be a Xiao Xiao type background, that one has a lot of downloads and I can see it’s usefulness. Maybe even a bigger one that can be panned around with lots of rooms and maybe interactable-stuff.
Great idea!
Hey,uh Ralph. I’ve found a bug in Stick Nodes where when you have 600 frames with 10 fps,the app constantly freezes then crashes when saved. Pls Ralph fix it ;-;
I’m on IOS btw
So when does it freeze? When you play the animation (since you told me the FPS)?
I know it’s a hassle and I’m sorry, but for me to look into it can you please send me the project file? You’ll need to use iTunes to grab it and then email it to me at [email protected], thanks!
I’m getting lazier every day, lazy to make animations because i have a ton of lessons to study.
Why, life, why.
Simple. Just don’t study.
I mean come on DmLan, that was a simple fix.
If I don’t study i’ll not get a job.
So I prefer to stop animations for a few moments than not having a job.
Wait
You want me to fail?
YA WANT MEH TO FAIL?!
Become a professional Stick Nodes animator.
Next question?
I’m not a professional animator.
But I still can animate on Sticknodes so I can share my animation on Youtube. Then, people will discover Sticknodes and your app will be more popular. But you need to pay me for this.
:3
How about we do that, except I just provide moral support instead of payment?
No.
