The Aerospray MG (as well as P- and RG) are weapons in the "Shooter" category in Splatoon (as well as the sequel). The MG's stats are;

Splatoon Range: 32/100 Damage: 20/100 Fire rate: 100/100
Splatoon 2 Range: 35/100 Damage: 10/100 Fire rate: 90/100
The MG has varients, but they have the same stats. The Aero group comes in sets

Splatoon Main: Aerospray MG/PG/RG Sub: Seeker Special: Inkzooka
Splatoon 2 Main: Aerospray MG/PG/RG Sub: Suction Bomb Special: Curling-Bomb Launcher
