Subject: Edax Animae

My most beloved creation. A crimson beast with gleaming spines and a hollow gaze, forged from hundreds of souls I ripped from existence only to watch them scream together within a single body. The first I granted the honor of being born not by accident, but out of a pure desire to destroy.

He was brought into the world thanks to a cultist worthy of mention: the only human who preferred to be shot by a policeman rather than close the rift that would bring him into being. The man fell with bullets in his chest and a smile on his face. Edax emerged, stepping on his corpse. Beautiful.

He faced Z-Nix… and for a moment, I thought the lizard would fall. There were bites, blood, roars, and fire. Edax held him with enough force to split a mountain, and yet the reptile kept fighting as if pain were fuel. Two forces made to crush everything—one by instinct, the other by design.

But in the end, even my masterpiece felt the edge of defeat. Z-Nix decapitated it with bestial fury, tearing its pride off along with its head. I won't deny it: seeing one of my best fall doesn't enrage me. It excites me. Because if Edax was defeated… then I can still create something worse.
