I have seen 2 tutorials of walking animations but I still cannot do walking animations. It really annoys me.
Seeing is only a fraction of learning. It takes practice, too.
I know but I just can’t it always seems alien and strange and I feel so…stupid. For professional or amazing animations walk cycles are like walking for them. For me it’s learning to walk again. Except it’s harder. 🙁
walking really isn’t difficult once you understand some basics
this is a tip that’s hard to explain but how you should approach (some) animation, like walking
create frame 1, dude is like this
—
now create what the “final” post will be, in frame 2, dude is like this
—
now go back, and add a frame in-between (the new frame 2), use the onion skin of both your start/final frames to pose him in the middle of the movement, dude is now like this
—
at this point you have frames 1,2,3 – start, middle, end of step
all you have to do now is add another frame in between 1 and 2, and 2 and 3 for these poses (pose 2 and 4 below), done
the important thing is to animate in the order I said, so you can utilize the onion skin properly to reference where you’re coming from…and where you’re going
and of course – KEEP the foot on the ground PLANTED – no sliding
Wow that actually helps. I would buy the state pro version of stick nodes…so I can add sounds but I dont like buying things to make things better :/ it would make my animations much better maybe develop my animation skills I have already created a very good Spider-Man animation…which I’m proud of.
State pro? Autocorrect why you make me seem dumb =|

I really want to know if there is a much simpler way to fill in your gaps after you do an outline when creating a stickfigure.
