1873 Trapdoor Springfield Pack by Wannabe Outlaw, 1873-Trapdoor-Springfield-Pack.zip (7081) - This Stickfigure Pack is a recreation of the famous Sprimgfield Trapdoor rifle, and as so, contains the following:
.Trapdoor Springfield Rifle
---
A single shot, breechloading rifle with a "Trapdoor" ejection mechanism.
Chambered in the powerful 45-70 Goverment round, with the ability to attach a bayonet, and even an early telescopic scope, this gun saw service with the U.S Army ever since the last year of the Civil War in 1865 with the 1st Model Allin Conversion, all the way until 1896, when it was replaced by the Krag-Jørgensen Bolt Action Rifle.

.Trapdoor Springfield Carbine
---
Shortened version of the Springfield Rifle, also chambered in 45-70 Goverment, this rifle only saw use with the cavalry until 1873, when the Springfield design was modified to have a shortened barrel apt for cavalry use.
Although this rifle also ceased use by the Cavalry in 1896, it was used by Teddy Rosevelt's Rough Riders cavalry unit in the Spanish-American war (due to the lack of sufficient bolt actions for the cavalry.)

45-70 Goverment
45-70 Goverment Shell
The .45-70 Goverment, also known as the .45-70, .45-70 Springfield, and .45-21⁄10" Sharps, is a .45 caliber rifle cartridge capable of holding 70 grains of black powder that was developed at the U.S. Army's Springfield Armory for use in the Springfield Model 1873. It was a replacement for the stop-gap .50-70 Government cartridge, which had been adopted in 1866, and saw use by all the previous Springfield rifles prior to the 1873.
