          i honestly think that the add background function should just be reworked into just adding a sprite of a background image rather than just slapping it into an animation

          but knowing ralph i doubt he’d do it

            i was thinking of doing this to old projects (changing bg image into a sprite upon opening) but thought for sure he’d find an issue with the idea and call me stupid or smth for overlooking something

            so i decided to just not

              Here’s an issue: current BG images have this weird-ass blur/anti-alias that crops itself on the canvas borders. I don’t think getting rid of it would cause problems though.

              If you were to actually go for changing bg’s, I’d think choosing BG from Visible & Imported sprites drop down menu. Kinda how you can select/switch sounds.

                nononono the bg simply becomes a sprite, is put in the sprite library, and appears in the very furthest background object position on all frames that had a visible background image toggled

                all background settings/menus are snapped

                (besides creation mode tracing thing)

                  So you’re saying it would convert background images to sprite and place an ugly ass node on the middle of my canvas, as well as potentially fuck up X and Y scaling, cause you tend to do that, for the luxury of being able to put a funny hue filter on top?

                      but secondly it would be placed in the center, scaled to the proper x/y as per the project settings, then locked

                      i noticed that while making the teaser vid, if you place a sprite BG and lock it, it should be so touching the bounding box area does not select it bc it gets annoying

                      i noticed a lot of small things like that while making just that small 1 minute video lmao

                      what am i paying you for
