Idk I haven’t paid much attention so please don’t take this as rude criticism. I’ve seen a bit of talk about new rules regarding the log so far from what I’ve seen it’s made things much shorter.More linked posts because how else can we really get a summary of the site if we exclude much of the site’s going-ons? I actually liked scrolling through the long ass posts because it makes me wonder what new thing I’ll see, if I’m in the log, and it makes it feel like the site is lively.
Less or no self promotion on the site log of all things. It’s meant to summarize the day that we all contributed to. Even if I wrote a log I wouldn’t want it to frame PROMISE ME at the top or to be promoted because why should it? Why would it be more show worthy than anyone else’s content?

It’s just for this month, no worries. When August comes, logs will resume how they used to, with a regular schedule and full links. Hopefully this month’s experimentation will bring new members on board as well, so we can more steadily keep the group chugging along

Happy Independence Day Americans!
Now, as you all celebrate this beautiful festivity with all your friends and families, i’d like to take a moment to remind you all that by the time of his death, George Washington owned 317 enslaved people at Mount Vernon, 124 of which were owned outright by Washington, 40 were rented, and the remainder were dower slaves owned by the estate of Martha Washington’s first husband, Daniel Parke Custis, on behalf of their grandchildren. Not only that, but after having owned slaves his entire life (including as a team of personal chefs during the revolution) he continued to own enslaved human beings after the Revolutionary War, but supported the abolition of slavery by a gradual legislative process, privately, Washington considered freeing his enslaved population in the mid 1790s. Those plans failed because of his “inability to raise the finances he said were necessary”
Also! Keep in mind that at his residence in Pennsylvania, to avoid laws that declared that black men or women who lived in Pennsylvania for more than 6 months would become free, he had several sets of slaves he’d switch back and forth to avoid losing his personal enslaved population.

As I’m sure many of you have noticed, the Site Log has been running since December 22nd of 2022, three to four years back from now. That’s a long time and we don’t plan on quitting anytime soon, but we currently have a tropical vacation spot with our names on it..
🫵 𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ! 🫵
This will mean that from July 1st, ANYONE can make a SL entry, covering whichever posts they want with no limit for how many posts or how many entries can appear in one day.
By the end of the month we will round up all the entries and determine which ones was our favourite. Depending on who makes the entries and whoever is interested, we will be reaching out to certain users to offer them an opportunity to become a contributor for our team.
