Not the best. That’s for sure. Essentially, a good majority of aspects from this series are completely taken from its inspiration, AOT. That can still be done well, but this series lacks originality or authenticity. You can parody popular culture and still have your own identity (Star Wars and Spaceballs). Unfortunately, this animation owes too much to its predecessors and doesn’t stand out from it. The characters don’t have much personality to them, and their personalities are pretty bland save for the “cute catgirl-esque sister cliche”, but even she is more cringe-inducing than entertaining. There are some good animation moments, but they seem to be very much based on movements from the actual show, to the point of where many of them were probably traced, which isn’t good at all. Couple that with some bland humor, uninteresting dialogue, and the rest of the forgettable cast, and you have a generic SN version of the original show. And you have that for 14 minutes. There’s some quality in the animation, but that’s not enough to redeem it.

High 1/5.

It takes strong inspiration from the actual anime and I don’t even watch it. While inspiration isn’t a bad thing. The fact that so much of it feels like it’s a carbon copy of the actual thing pulls from it. Animation in this wasn’t amazing, but it did the job and was certainly very good in areas, but not that great overall. Visually though, this is impressive with it’s use of filters and lighting as well as detail put into the backgrounds, but it’s lazy in some areas as it takes a shot right from the show where there’s an overview of the area, and then it cuts to the actual animation. Here there’s a serious problem with consistency in art style. Not to mention there’s a load of visual bugs that made this also hard to look at. Humor is something that was odd. It was mostly done through faces from what I could see and it was odd an out of place, making no sense. Story on the other hand is pretty average. It doesn’t hold much in terms of character personalities. Like there was a really cheerful sister…. A pretty normal protagonist who only really showed is fear at the encounter of the titan which was abruptly quick. And there was a lot of areas where this was really bad, like at the start it felt like that moment when you are playing through a game quickly at the start and just want to get through the dialogue and skip all the cutscenes. The pacing was ridiculous there. But I can see the areas where this is good, but from a critical perspective, it isn’t mind blowing and felt like it was thrown together quickly.
