Story and humor are inapplicable for this animation, so I won’t critique them.
This unfinished fight is honestly some amazing work by Rit. The use of polyfils and dynamic angles is very impressive and creates a wonderful image for the audience. The variations of gun arms and effects are quite impressive, and this animation really cements itself as one that shows what StickNodes is capable of. Pacing is for the most part on point, and this is a great reference to work on animation. There still are clear flaws. The sound design could be touched up upon a lot more, and many hits and effects themselves don’t have impact. They give off the effect and make the noise, but more needs to be done to make attacks feel powerful when viewed. This could, of course, all be contributed to the fact that this is unfinished, but it still works as an animation even with that aspect. Were it finished and the sound design was touched upon, I would definitely rank this as a 4/5, but I have to settle with 3/5 for now. Regardless, this is an enjoyable animation for sure, and I recommend it.
This impressed me and suprised me on 4 different levels. While visually it doesn’t have anyrhing going for it in terms of detail or setting, it makes up for that in angles which should always be used in simpler animation like this. But there was also shape in this that does help with the rather lacking visuals. The animation itself has no buildup to a fight which would have been nice regardless of story or animation focus. But the animation itself is fluid and very nicely done with the angles. Let alone the effects that compliment this and the smooth animation done. Not 30fps smooth, but reasonably smooth for the style carried out here. Certainly one I would recommend. But it’s unfinished and lacking in a few areas.
3/5
