Thawne is a scientist who was born in the XXV century, genetically enhanced by his parents

From his childhood he proved to be an unscrupulous antisocial sociopath who had a great admiration for Flash (Barry Allen) whom he considered a kindred soul.

As an adult, he becomes an expert scientist and physicist in the Speed Force and wearing an old Flash suit (which had traces of DNA and kinetic energy from Barry Allen), Thawne secretly undergoes a reverse polarity experiment that transmits Flash's power to his body, but the process inadvertently alters the costume's colors, turning it into a negative of the original.
