A bloater is an infected human host, it is the final stage of infection, the rat king is not considered a stage of infection, since it is only a combination of all stages, the bloater has a weaker variant called the shambler, shamblers are assumed to be infected going into the final stage, but due to the conditions in L.A, where they come from, they mutate into shamblers, although shamblers are a weaker variant of the bloater, they are still quite dangerous, since upon death, the many lumps on its back will explode, unleashing spores in the area, infecting anyone who breaths it in.

Bloaters are very dangerous, they are very agile for their size, they are killing machines who have shown signs of an abnormal amount of strength, they have been shown body slamming fully grown men with one arm, approach with caution
