The Desth Korps of Krieg are a part of the Astra Militarum in warhamer 40k. They use trenches, attrition, Overcharged lasguns, and near suicidal loyalty to win. They wear gass masks due to the fact that their homeworld of Krieg (which translates to war btw) is a nuclear wasteland.

(Useless lore alert) kriegsmen feel a deep, indoctrinated feeling of shame, and a need to redeem themselves by serving in war. "In death, atonement". This is because, many hundred years ago, the leaders of krieg declared independence from the Imperium of man. 1 of the military leaders there (Colonel Jurten) disagreed, and resolved the following civil war by nuking the planets atmosphere. As penance for rebelling, the planet (once accepted back in) was to give military power. At this point, it was all that the dead planet could provide, since Krieg has a set of vitea wombs (no one knows what those are, but they're probably cloning vats) that churn out hundreds of soldiers. The soldiers are indoctrinated from birth to feel shame for their past, and that in faith and service in war, they can be redeemed. They also use horses.
