    My Review of GxK and Other Goji Films

    That’s right, I finally watched Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire yesterday and a few other films beforehand. Now what did I, Logan-Zilla Evolved, think of GxK? Well… It’s not bad. In fact, It’s an improvement over GvK. The Humans are somewhat shallow but do enough to get the job done, Bernie in particular had a major glowup. I think the relationship between Jia, Andrew’s, and new character Trapper is pretty decent and that’s it. Yeah, the humans have less screentime now which is either a good thing (to most) or a detriment. Now as for the monsters, this is easily a Kong movie. His character is pretty good and has a nice Kratos-esc dynamic (The Norse Era) with Suko. Godzilla on the other hand, he’s… eh. He’s cool and I am warming up to his evolved form but honestly, he’s just kinda there for the action scenes and showa references. Skar King was… also eh. He’s cool as well and definitely a bit better than Goji himself but his motive isn’t anything that special or deeply explored though to be fair, in a franchise that wasn’t high art half the time, that in itself is not saying much. Shimo was honestly the weakest titan as a character since her enslavement isn’t explored much but as I said, that criticism itself isn’t saying a lot in a franchise like Godzilla. I could care less for the other titans, the monkey town plot is aight, the CGI is fine but isn’t as good as Godzilla 2014, and overall; I like the movie Now as for the other godzilla movies, here’s a quick rundown of the following movies;
    Godzilla (1954): A beautifully crafted film that is genuinely depressing even for someone like me. If there was a godzilla movie I’d say you should watch at least once in your life, It’s the original.
    Son of Godzilla (1967): I like it, It’s a decent film about Godzilla and Minilla with surprisingly decent human character’s and the OST is a pretty good bop. It also has some of the best endings in the franchise.
    Godzilla (1998): As a Jurassic Park movie, it’s whatever. As a Beast from 20,000 fathoms movie, It’s faithful… I think, I haven’t watched that film. As a Godzilla film… It’s fucking awful, what more do I have to say? I’ll go into more depth with this movie at some point
    Godzilla (2000): It’s okay. Godzilla looks cool but when compared to other movies, It’s not exactly anything to write about. Orga is eh and the human character’s are, as usual, pretty forgettable

    Now as for Kong, I’ll review his movies when they’ve been watched. That’s all folks, I’m outta here.
