Doing Minecraft stuff. Figured out how to keep my motivation at a consistent level.
Now coming back to my largest project ever.
The “WORLD TURTLE” (Name pending)I made the model it will be based on and will be scaled up 30X
Meaning one square will be 30×30 blocks.
Making this thing 1,350 blocks wide in the end.The top part is hollow and acts like a bowl. When its built to scale it’ll have mountains, hills, villages. You wont actually be able to see the inside like you do in the top down image.
So I’ll be only building the outside faces of blocks, so it makes the shape of the creature accurately with the least amount of blocks.
And this is how many I need:SPRUCE:
-198 faces
-178,200 blocks/54 double chestsBIRCH
-411 faces
-369,900 blocks/112 double chestsSANDSTONE
-532 faces
-478,800 blocks/144 double chestsGREEN CONCRETE
-1,093 faces
983,700 blocks/296 double chestsGREEN TERRACOTTA
-331 faces
-297,900 blocks/90 double chestsIn the game I can make farms for the wood, sand, and concrete blocks. But I cannot farm terracotta. Using villagers to buy some from wont be as fast as mining it myself. But mining nearly 300,000 terracotta will take so long and isnt pratical. I have a life to tend to.
So I am considering removing the terracotta entirely and just have it be plain green concrete. Will get rid of some of the texturing but also weeks of labor so, idk.
If I do that Green Concrete will have 1,424 faces, 1.281.600 blocks/386 double chests.Entire project will take forever.
This sounds intimidating but its just how long its gonna take.
The real hard part is forming the inside of the bowl to look like a Minecraft world.
If you recall the thing is WELLLL over 1,000 blocks wide. Thats a lot of ground to terraform and add villages and custom trees onto. THAT part will be the hard part.
Rn I’m AFK at my concrete duper. I expanded my storage to 88 double chests but I’ll have to fill that over 4 times to get the amount I’d need. This is based on a belief some people have where they think the entire world is on the back of 4 elephants thats standing on the back of a turtle.
Because of world height limitations and the sheer size I wanted this to be, I removed the Elephants. I want you to be able to stand on this thing and genuinly think youre not on a turtles back but normal land. Unless you stand in the middle on a pillar with render distance that reaches over 700 blocks (43 chunk render distance). You would never know.
