Weird ( gun ) history #1 :
Anti Material Rifle
Anti Material Rifle or AMR, are sniper based gun designed to break through metal and anything hard, in fact, its overpowered.
One bullet through your leg and you’ll be a handicap.
Unfortunately, it have an extremely high recoil and loud firing sound, even with suppressors, its still loud.
And if you consider the ability of AMRs, the first AMR is the rifle.
From napoleonian war.
Just.
Rifle.
The english won the war because of it.
It have a tunnel barrel with a drill-like shape, so it makes the bullet more accurate.
And its loud.
Unlike muskets, it needs to be carefully loaded, if not, then your bullet will be stuck in it and your rifle will have cracks or explode, like in cartoons.
It does’nt have a bayonet, making the user vulnerable to melee and gunfires in open fields.
It can shoot up to 350 meters, but more the range increase, less deadly it is, but the upside of it is it can shoot through dirts at an appropriate distance and eventually injure it enemy.
British have taken it seriously and the long barrel rifle was born.
Long barrel means more accuracy.
And because it is now easier to carry, they called it the Light Rifle.
It weights 3.7 kilograms, unlike the normal rifle which weights about 5 kilograms.
The problems with the light rifle is that it is much less deadly than a normal rifle, but, it is easier to reload, and also faster.
But soldiers prefer the normal rifle due to its deadliness, so only a few thousands of light rifle were produced.
Fast Foward to 1990′
The real AMR was invented.
Like the BFG-50
Or the SFG, a more compact and smaller version of the BFG.
However, the BFG isnt a true AMR, today’s AMR is :
– PTRD-41
– Barrett 50 cal.
– NTW-20
Today, they all have the capacity to shoot through tanks.
And their firing sound is still not as loud as me screaming ” HENTAI !!!!!!!! ” when I see b00bs in anime, even a little bit.
