tracing is ok for beginners to learn, but once you feel you’re at a skill level where you can move from tracing to non-trace, please do.
thats what i did too, for my first ever weapons yeah, i traced, but then i moved to reference and then non-trace.thats why i only ever show my imagination/original ideas weapons.

Another basic tip is to up the stickfigure scale if you are making a small stickfigure. Up the stickfigure scale while making it, so you can make nodes more precise. When you’re done, or to check your progress every so often, put the stickfigure scale back to normal.
