No joke, I might do the same if it’s absolutely necessary.
Some people just move on with their own projects and lives and grow to either forget or to just re-evaluate priorities.
I am in fact speaking from experience, there was an entire (almost) year where I didn’t do anything Sticknodes-related and I never once said goodbye.
