Weekly discussion: Starset is peak 🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
So I just finished The Prox Transmissions which is a really cool sci-fi novel from the band Starset guys have you ever heard of Starset it’s not like I mention it every chance I get. Anyway it’s not just that, they also made a Marvel comic which was just the novel but comic version and their early albums literally tell a story, especially if you look at the music video for “My Demons” which is a kinda inaccurate version of the first ⅙ of the book or smth but no one cares.

Now for what this post is really about: Me glazing Starset’s book. I love this book so much because I just love sci-fi stuff in general and like it’s from Starset guys how can you not love it? I’m gonna break it down in a very short and under detailed way if you want a better explanation look it up. Btw please don’t read under this if you haven’t read The Prox Transmissions because it will contain spoilers. Well they’re pretty minor but they’re like things you wish you didn’t know before reading yk?

The Starset Society was formed to get information about the Everything Machine, a device from the future that can create literally anything in the world, out to the public. This is because in the future, the machine causes the world to turn to shit because of corporations greed ofc. The creator of the society is called Aston Wise, a super genius who was assisting Dr Stephen Browning and Dana Milano to decrypt a signal from the future that Steve uncovered. They eventually end up doing it and it turns out that it’s a transmission from the future sent from the planet Prox, which humans terraformed and moved to after Earth went to shit.

Some of the songs have changed their meaning for me too, like “Carnivore” and “Down with the fallen”. Anyway since this is called a weekly discussion, I guess I better start a discussion so that’s how this post is gonna end ig.

Based off of everything you’ve read in this post, what are your thoughts on the band and book?

no one’s gonna answer that what am I doing
