This is a Boreal Chorus Frog. Its sound is described as a “crreek”, lasting 1 or 2 seconds, similar to the sound of a fingernail running along the teeth of a fine-toothed comb. They can be found in or near most shallow bodies of water, normally temporary ones. I often found these little guys floating about in my Grandmother’s pool.
