I’m bored, so here’s DBVW in its entirety so far.
Dragon Ball Void Warriors
Prologue – Raw Power
[Planet Furuta, Age 767]
“King Durian, sir? Namgo has requested to see you as soon as possible,” a crackly voice said over the speaker on the king’s desk. “He said it’s urgent, and that it’s regarding the twins that were born just a little bit ago. Eeto and Epla.”
“Please send him up. I’m certain it’s important if it’s going to be coming from him,” the king responded, the opposite end of the line going silent after a quick ‘affirmative.’ Durian opened his throne room door out of politeness so that Namgo wouldn’t have to spend a few extra seconds manually opening it. It was little things like these that kept Durian in power- there was no reason for the Furutans to overthrow him because they all liked him, and he did his job well while still keeping his ground and authority. And, within a minute or so, Namgo had reached the throne room.
“Hello, Namgo. What is it you wanted to discuss?” The king asked Namgo when he’d taken a few steps into the large room.
“Sir, it’s about Eeto and Epla’s power levels,” Namgo said. “As you know, the Furutan power-sensing method gives us a guide for our strength. Um… the boys- they already have a single FPU. And following the Furutan power-sensing method, that calculates to-”
“The boys already both have a power level of 5!?” King Durian interrupted, visibly baffled. “So… a-are you implying that they’re already in peak condition?”
“Well… physically, no. You don’t have to worry about that, they obviously both look their age. But in terms of raw power, yes, they are already as strong as any full-grown Furutan,” said Namgo. “I hope you can see why I’m a little concerned, as I am the eventual mentor for the boys.” Durian started for the large throne room’s door, rubbing his temples with a single hand.
“This is just absurd… take me to their Incubation Chambers. I would like to see their current rate of growth to see if this poses any type of threat.”
“Sir. They’re just being put in as we speak. The boys haven’t made any progress yet.” At this, Durian froze. He turned around and stared at Namgo with an expression that was a complicated mix of emotions, somewhere between fear, pride, and wonder.Chapter One – The Legend Reborn
[Planet Furuta, Age 779]
Off in a building towards the center of Duria City, Eeto and Epla were training hard. They had already set up a routine they went through with Namgo every day.
Stretches and a small warm up, going against punching bags and gradually increasing impact strength, another round of punching against test-dummies with the same gradual increase, the previous two with kicks instead, and then a 15-minute rest period.
Next, an (independent) test against Namgo himself to see if they learned everything, and then a 30-minute cooldown period of Ki meditation. It was rough and took almost two hours including their breaks, but the boys got used to it, and it seemed to be paying off greatly.
“Woah, Epla, I think you went up 4 FPUs today!” Eeto exclaimed after their main training was over.
“Dude. You went up, like, 12 this week,” Epla said.
“And you’ve gained, like, 10 not even counting today. Seriously, don’t be like that, bro,” Eeto replied back. “Namgo, shouldn’t he stop being like that?”
“Yeah, Epla, lighten up a tad. You’re both making progress here,” Namgo pitched in. “Besides, we’re goin’ to try weights tomorrow. I think you’ll like that.” And it appeared he was right- Epla was suddenly beaming. They’d already heard about how weights work and all of their benefits, but for some reason Epla seemed a lot more interested in them than Eeto. It could have been that they had slightly different mindsets.
“So, I’m at a… what, somewhere in the 500’s?” Eeto wondered aloud, closing his eyes and focusing on his Ki.
“Yup, I’d say 502 FPU. Epla, you’re just a little lower- 480,” Namgo said, complimenting Eeto and trying to encourage Epla at once. “Anyways, guys, we should start our meditation.”
The boys nodded, sitting down in place, cross-legged. They both enjoyed this meditation period because it was where a good chunk of their growth came from. As the boys’ breathing slowed and all movement came to a stop, Namgo swore he saw Eeto randomly flinch out of the corner of his eye, but he couldn’t be sure.-{}-
“Hoo boy, these are heavy as crud!” Eeto said, struggling to lift his arms up after the weights had been put on. After a few tries, he could only lift them a mere 2 inches off the ground at most, until exhaustion took over and he couldn’t lift them at all for a while.
“Yeah, they’ll take some getting used to. Y’know, most Furutans never get to this point. And yet, here you guys are, working on the weights to finish off your third week!” Namgo exclaimed. “And that’s to say nothing of your FPUs.”
“…Grrraah!” Eeto suddenly lifted as hard as he could, successfully holding the weights almost a foot above the ground for 3 seconds before letting them go, a vibration being sent out across the floor.
“Woah! Bro, chill- I think I felt your power spike up by 6!” Epla warned. “Plus, too much effort, and you might hurt yourself. Pull a muscle or somethin’.”
“Yeah, but I just really wanna get everything out of this that I can.” Eeto
leaned back and sat down for a bit. Meanwhile, Epla lifted and got his weights 4 inches off the ground for a whole second.
“So, how long are we gonna use these? Like long-term, before our next training sub-unit?” Eeto asked.
“I always leave that up to my trainees. Whenever they feel ready, then we move on,” Namgo replied. Eeto nodded, and then put his weights back on after a few more seconds had passed. He realized that he could lift them a lot easier now, and lifted them a little under 2 feet this time.
“I guess an increase of 6 FPUs really ‘packs a punch’, huh?” He joked, holding them there for a good 4 seconds before slowly letting them down with a sigh.
“Aaand I think you just went up 10 more,” Namgo said.
“Holy crud! Lemme try again…” Epla lifted as hard as he could and found he could almost lift his weights as high as Eeto could.
“There we go, guys! Epla, you just went up 8 FPU!” Namgo said, clapping. “You guys are growing quickly, but I think that’s enough for today. We shouldn’t push ourselves too much. Let’s get meditatin’!” With that, the boys slid off their weights and sat down. They spent the whole 30 minutes meditating as usual.[Planet Furuta, Age 782]
Eeto and Epla, now 15, had long since been moved to a meditation-only training style. Namgo took note of how much more their power grew during meditation than the other forms of training, and talked with King Durian about switching them over, to which he agreed. Their power levels had dramatically risen over the past three years, much to nobody’s surprise, and both were in the high 20,000’s on the FPU scale. Recently, however, the boys were starting to gain a thin, black aura around them during the exact middle of meditation- perhaps the peak?- and they seemed to grow even stronger during this time. However, it seemed to slowly be taking a toll, as their meditation times slowly shortened.
“Hey, uh, Eeto and Epla?” Namgo asked one day.
“Yup?” The boys replied at the same time.
“I wanted to talk about this weird aura thing that’s been happening lately. It’s impacting your guys’ performance both ways.”
“What aura thing?” Epla asked.
“During the ‘peak’ of your meditation, you both gain a black aura of sorts. I don’t know what it is, but I’m just worried that it’s slowly taking its toll on you guys.”
“That… does sound kinda weird. Maybe Durian knows something about it?” Eeto suggested with a shrug. Namgo took his advice, however, and went straight to Furuta’s king.
“They gain a black aura during their Ki meditation? B-but that could only mean… Oh no,” Durian said, a look of worry spreading across his face.
“What? What does it mean?” Namgo asked.
“Did your parents not tell you about the legend? Agh, and apparently Eeto and Epla’s haven’t, either… It seems it’s been lost to the past generations. I’ll try my best to make it quick,” he said with a sigh, Namgo sitting down in place ready for an explanation.
“Long ago, Furutans were not the race we are today. We were originally members of a race called Saiyans. They were ruthless warriors, much unlike us. To put it simply, they believed in brawling over every little disagreement. They all had a rivalry with each other, in a way. One Saiyan, however, decided against this. And because this was against Saiyan nature, he was frowned upon.
“Although soon, more Saiyans suddenly sided with him,” He continued. “This Saiyan was my grandfather. I am actually King Durian the third. But that’s beside the point. Eventually, more and more Saiyans went with Durian’s idea until the others had had enough. They formed tribes of sorts, either tribe believing the other was wrong. Let’s fast forward a bit here, though…
“We were cast off in a ship, eventually, to fend for our own. My grandfather found a planet- this planet- and settled down. At this point, we had fully evolved into present-day Furutans. We made up a story to tell our children about Saiyans, but we had to… change it a little. Instead of a ruthless brawling machine, the legend of the Void Warrior was about a pure-hearted fighter that would save Furuta from some form of evil.
“Some, however, believed that the Void Warrior was still going to be as evil as the Saiyans were. Everybody told their kids one story or the other. And I’m not taking any chances. If they somehow obtain black hair along with the aura, contact me immediately.”
And nearly a month later, it happened. The boys officially had obtained the form of the Void Warrior. Durian kept to his word and sent the boys off in a Furutan Escape Pod, sending them to the furthest planet away.
Earth.Chapter Two – Introductions Under Way
[Planet Earth, Age 784]
“Woah!” Goku yelled, a sonic boom from something entering the atmosphere scaring him out of sleep and off the couch.
“Wait… why was I on the cou-” He started, but was interrupted by Vegeta slamming open his front door.
“KAKAROT. OUTSIDE. NOW.” He walked over and grabbed Goku by his gi’s undershirt, dragging him outside.
“Gyh-! Okay, Vegeta, alright, geeeeooOOLY-” This time he cut himself off. A Pod was shooting across the sky- although to them, it appeared to just be getting bigger, as it was heading directly towards his house. Thinking fast, he turned Super Saiyan God and held both hands out, a thin fiery aura surrounding him and a yellow-orange orb forming in his palms.
“Vegeta, come on and help! I have no idea how fast this thing’s goin’!” Vegeta followed suit, preparing a God Bind to halt the object’s movement. Goku squinted as the object plummeted faster and faster towards the Earth’s crust.
“I-is that… a Saiyan Pod? No, the glass is all the wrong color. That’s both a relief and a… well, an opposite-of-relief,” Goku said, chuckling a bit.
The Pod slammed into their God Binds at over 17,500 miles per hour, and it took both of them at their full power to stop it completely. They both let the Pod settle to the ground before reverting to base form.
“Now, what is this? I mean, it’s obviously a Pod. But it’s clearly not a Saiyan’s, soooo…” Goku pondered where it could be from, but then the door fell off. Two young boys stepped out, and both Goku and Vegeta could tell that they were insanely strong for their age.
“I, uh… Who are you guys?” Eeto asked. “Sorry about that sonic boom, by the way. Woke both of us up, so I figured it did the same for you two.”
“Well, uh, welcome to Earth…? I’m Goku, and this is-”
“Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans,” Vegeta said quickly, yet again interrupting Goku. “Now, your turn.”
“I’m Eeto, and this is Epla, my younger brother!” Eeto slung his arm over Epla’s shoulder, pulling him in for a sort of half-hug. “And what the crud’s a Saiyan?”
“Hmph. So you really aren’t Saiyans… interesting. I’ll explain that later. For now, what are you?” Vegeta asked.
“Furutans,” Epla said.
“What? Did you say you guys are fruit? …Aww, now I’m hungry…” Goku comically held his stomach to emphasise this.
“Furutans, huh? Never heard of them before today,” Vegeta said.
“Wait… Are you guys in Void?” Eeto asked the two. “Are we not the only Void Warriors?”
“What’s Void mean?” Goku asked.
“We don’t really even know,” Eeto said. “We only got little snippets of a story before we were shoved into this pod here, but we’re basically legendary destined heroes now, I guess. Void is our signature, uh… form? Transformation? Is that what you’d call it?”
“Yeah. Also, you’re ‘good guys’?” Goku asked, double-checking.
“Yeah. We were sent off because people thought we’d turn evil or some crud, but we’re still good.”
“Aw yeah! You’re gonna love it here!” Goku exclaimed.
“UH, no-no-no, we gotta go back! We’re the Void Warriors. The legend states that we have to protect Furuta,” replied Eeto.
“Well that’s gonna be a problem… we just busted up the ship while we were getting Broly,” Goku explained.
“Who the crud is- Agh, nevermind… So, are we stuck here?”
“For the time being, yes,” Vegeta sighed.
“Well, that’s just great…” Eeto said. “Now we’re stuck on this dang cruddy planet!…”
“Hey, your, uh… your hair’s kinda spiking up a bit, Eeto. Just like Broly, actually…” Goku noted, also realizing how strange it was to say a new name.
“What do you even mean?!” Eeto’s eyes flared out, his irises turning a vibrant lime before fading to black. They slowly squashed down into ellipses, his pupils dilating. At this, he took a step back, blinking a couple of times, his hair settling back down and his eyes fixing themselves.
“So, what, do we have another Broly on our hands?” Vegeta asked. He, too, had taken a step back, for the same reason as Eeto. Fear.
“…Can you bring me to this Broly dude?” Eeto asked, picking up on the context clues.-{}-
“Here we are,” Goku said, gesturing to the house that now stood in front of the group. “Broly’s house. We made it for him as a surprise gift before we brought him back to Earth.” He walked over to the green door and knocked.
“Ah- Kakarot. I see you brought a new friend. …Or two,” Broly added, noticing Epla in the back.
“Yeeaaah, we got a situation,” Goku said. “This is Eeto, and he just landed here with his brother, Epla. Basically, he got mad because he realized he was stuck here for a while because the ship broke and had a little… primal outburst. Hair spiked up and everything. We were wondering if you could take a look and figure it out.” Broly stepped aside, letting everybody in. The inside of his house was a little bland, but it was all Broly needed anyways. He had lived almost two years in a cave, too, so even this was a little much for him.
“So, Eeto, can you somehow just ‘get’ one of these primal outbursts, or will we have to anger you ourselves?” Broly asked.
“I mean, it sounds a little weird when you say it like that, but… I guess you’ll have to do it,” Eeto said.
“Alright… you’re stuck on Earth. There’s no way off this planet until we fix the ship. You need to get back to your planet but can’t,” Broly said.
“Mmmhm,” Eeto said.
“Mmmhm what? Did you just accept it all that fast?” Broly questioned.
“Wh-u-well, yeah.” Eeto’s eyes flared lime again, but not all the way to black. “I already got over it. Goku was right, I’ll probably love it here.”
“So you just got over it? All those issues you had with the situation are just suddenly gone?”
“YES. YES THEY ARE. What do you not get about that? Do you think I’d just up and lie to a guy I just met, let alone the guy who can help me?!”
“You know, now that you say it, I can’t help but think you are lying,” Broly inwardly smirked as he realized it was working, but outwardly stayed perfectly calm.
“Rgggh! I don’t LIE. I’m a pure-hearted, legendary hero, and I won’t let you get in the way of that!” Eeto shouted, his hair finally spiking up. His irises flared back to lime and then to black, his eyes squashing down into ovals. It seemed his brain might have been getting mixed up as well, as Broly had no intent of stopping Eeto, in fact quite the opposite.
“Will you guys stop making my brother MAD? He’s already gone through this once, and putting him through it again might just make it worse!” Epla suddenly spoke up, showing the same signs as Eeto.
“Alright. Calm down, guys, I’ve seen enough. Breathe,” Broly said, putting a hand on Eeto’s shoulder. “So, good news is these are pretty much the same things that happened to me. …Except my eyes turned yellow and they never went black like that, but that’s beside the point. I know how this works, so I know how to prevent it. Or, if you want to, control it.”
“I’d preferably want to learn how to control it,” Eeto said, Epla nodding in agreement.
“Well, then, your training starts now,” said Broly.Chapter Three – Training, Take Two
“Now, I want you two to know, Broly is incredibly strong. Possibly even stronger than us at this point, but it’s hard to tell,” Vegeta said. “His power level fluctuates. It could be low, it could be high, so he’s unpredictable. But when he hits, he hits hard.” He turned his head towards Broly, nodded, and then took a few steps back before crossing his arms.
Eeto started the fight off in an instant, flying at Broly and trying to land a punch square in the face. As fist met face, however, Broly didn’t even flinch.
“Holy-!” Eeto started, before getting absolutely chucked by a kick to the chest. He sat up and leaned onto his arm, wheezing for breath.
“Bro! Are you okay?!” Epla shouted.
“Y-yeah… I just- need… a bit…” Eeto slid back down onto his elbow, then flopped onto his back, which he quickly regretted, coughing and leaning back up.
Epla took his chance and charged at Broly, successfully landing a kick straight into his stomach. It might have been the angle the collision occurred at, but Broly actually skid back a bit, sinking into the earth.
“Wooh, nice one!” Goku shouted from the sidelines. Broly punched at Epla but missed, the boy ducking before sliding behind his opponent, dealing a few strong blows across Broly’s upper back.
“Alright, a few lucky blows, but you’ve still got a lot to learn,” Broly said. He turned around to face Epla. “I think it might be possible that you’re attacking too fast. You’re not giving yourself enough time to think before you move.” At this, Goku chuckled, as this was similar to his Ultra Instinct state. Broly just gave him a friendly glare.
“Yeah, I totally agree with your first statement. Furutans aren’t exactly a fighting race… our power levels were supposed to cap at 5,” Epla said.
“Well, what are they at now?” Broly asked.
“Uh… in FPUs?” Epla asked.
“Never heard of FPUs, so I’m gonna say no. Just a normal power level will do.”
“Well, in that case… 10… multiply th… uh… 52,735?”
“Not bad.”
“Do you guys just not use units, or…?”
“No. We usually just leave it as a number.”
“Huh. Furutans have a unit for theirs.”
“Interesting. I bet you could tell me all about it after we’re done training, though.”
“OH, right!” Epla tried his luck and swung at Broly’s face, but Broly ducked, just as Epla had done earlier. As the two started up a flurry of punches and kicks, Eeto was trying to figure out how to tap into his Void form. He slowed his breathing (which he could actually do correctly again), waiting and hoping for some sort of sign that it was working.
“Raaaaagh!” Epla caught both of Broly’s fists, craning his neck around to look for the scream’s source only to see a now black-haired Eeto flying towards them. He threw Broly’s hands to the side, sending him off balance, and leaped to the side to let Eeto come in with a surprise left hook to the face then follow it up with a spin-kick, carrying the majority of his momentum into Broly’s ribs.
“Agh! Where did that come from?!” Broly yelled, reeling from the sudden impacts.
“A two-fold multiplier, apparently,” Eeto replied, landing. “Easily readable on the Furutan scale. Now I’d say I’m at 24,178 FPU. Or, since you guys don’t use those, 120,890.”
“Impressive. Well, then, let’s start the real fight.”
