No offense but this gives off the vibe that you might be to young (or something) to realize all the possibilities, so I’m just going to say it was something thats probably going to get somebody arrested for a long, long, time.
But no, it was not arson lol.
Stay safe and be positive. You’ll get over this. This is coming from someone who had a pretty rough life and recently lost someone (as in they are now dead) dear to them due to substance abuse

It really can be tough sometimes, and you (nor I) are not alone with these experiences.
