Why do you celebrate Christmas if you are not religious? I’m not hating on the people who do, it’s just weird that people celebrate the birthday of a person that they don’t believe exists.. now days, it makes sense. But back in the day, where religion was more important when it comes to society as a whole where countries unite in sole reason that they share the same religion, it probably was extremely strange.

Free stuff
but seriously, christmas at this point can be viewed as both a religious holiday and a time to spend time with your loved ones, maybe get a day off work, and give each other things. Even if it has religious roots it does not mean that at this point, with how popularized the tradition is, atheists shouldn’t celebrate as it religion just doesn’t have the same hold on the holiday for many.
and, you know like i said above, free stuff
basically this
while Christmas is based on something religious, its also been completely commercialized
there’s three types of families
1) go to church on eve/christmas day, and do the presents and gifts and santa stuff
2) go to church on eve/christmas day, and don’t partake in the over-materialism of the holiday
3) just do the gifts and santa shit
Fair enough
i celebrate it really because its fun!
its a way for the family to come together, give gifts and have happy times!
Well adults view it as the birth of Christ and free stuff from loved ones and friends
And then.. there’s the children who only give a shit about the gifts
But I mean I think you don’t have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas even though I am
i like the food
thats it.
