Hostiles is a 2017 American Western drama film written and directed by Scott Cooper, based on a story by Donald E. Stewart. It stars Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi, and Ben Foster; Stephen Lang, Jesse Plemons, Rory Cochrane, Adam Beach, Q\’orianka Kilcher, Jonathan Majors, and Timothée Chalamet appear in supporting roles.
In 1892, a renowned army captain, Joseph J. Blocker (Christian Bale), is forced to escort a dying Cheyenne chief (Wes Studi) and his family back to his tribe\’s lands in Montana. To do so, they will have to undertake a dangerous journey across the New Mexico prairies, where they will meet a young widow (Rosamund Pike) whose family was murdered by a group of Comanches who still roam the area. Together they will have to join forces to survive the punishing landscape and the hostile Comanche tribes they encounter along the way.

This movie is one of my favorite alternative western ever made, depicting PTSD, Psycosis, and the struggles of Native Americans where those conserns werent even considered yet, great battles & scenes too.

It was an unequal treaty and ended the First Sino-Japanese War, in which Chinese land and naval forces were decisively defeated by the Japanese. The treaty was signed by Count Ito Hirobumi and Viscount Mutsu Munemitsu for Japan and Li Hongzhang and his son Li Jingfang on behalf of China.

The film premiered at 2008 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in selected cities on September 19, 2008, then expanded into wide release on October 3, 2008.
In 1882, New Mexico, Sheriff Virgil Cole (Ed Harris) and his marshall Everett Hitch (Viggo Mortensen) are tasked with pacifying Appaloosa, a lawless mining town ruled by the ruthless and powerful rancher Randall Bragg (Jeremy Irons). But the arrival of Allison French (Renée Zellweger), an attractive widow, threatens to destroy Virgil and Everett\’s long-standing friendship.

Look, i Love love LOVE this movie, although the main premise is extremely simple, it\’s probably the most realistic out there.

the set design, the costumes, the firearms, the fact that the characters ACTUALLY AIM, or even something as simple as the fact that the glass isnt 100% see-through speaks VOLUMES of just how far the team went in order to portray the old west acoordingly.

On April 14th, 1865, Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, was shot in the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth while attending the play Our American Cousin at Ford\’s Theatre in Washington, D.C, Although shot in the head as he watched the play in April 14th, Lincoln died of his wounds the following day at 7:22 am in the Petersen House opposite the theater. He was the first U.S. president to be assassinated, and his death greatly affected the reconstruction of the USA tremendously.
