DEAD BIRDS (2004)

Civil War brutality in movies is weird to come by, Civil War horror in movies is even WEIRDER to find, and civil war horror AND brutality? Probably the only time i’ve ever seen it in a film, especially the shootout in the begining of the movie, nowadays it’s not weird to see child deaths in westerns, but for 2004? Geniuenly impresive.
also wacka you and your wife should still watch this instead loser

JACK THE RIPPER IS UNLEASHED!
Jack the Ripper was an unidentified serial killer who was active in and around the impoverished Whitechapel district of London, England, in 1888. In both criminal case files and the contemporaneous journalistic accounts, the killer was also called the Whitechapel Murderer and Leather Apron.
Attacks ascribed to Jack the Ripper typically involved women working as prostitutes who lived in the slums of the East End of London. Their throats were cut prior to abdominal mutilations. The removal of internal organs from at least three of the victims led to speculation that their killer had some anatomical or surgical knowledge. Rumours that the murders were connected intensified in September and October 1888, and numerous letters were received by media outlets and Scotland Yard from people purporting to be the murderer.
The name “Jack the Ripper” originated in the “Dear Boss letter” written by someone claiming to be the murderer, which was disseminated in the press. The letter is widely believed to have been a hoax and may have been written by journalists to heighten interest in the story and increase their newspapers’ circulation. Another, the “From Hell letter”, was received by George Lusk of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee and came with half a preserved human kidney, purportedly taken from one of the victims. The public came to believe in the existence of a single serial killer known as Jack the Ripper, mainly because of both the extraordinarily brutal nature of the murders and media coverage of the crimes.
Extensive newspaper coverage bestowed widespread and enduring international notoriety on the Ripper, and the legend solidified. A police investigation into a series of eleven brutal murders committed in Whitechapel and Spitalfields between 1888 and 1891 was unable to connect all the killings conclusively to the murders of 1888. Five victims—Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes and Mary Jane Kelly—are known as the “canonical five” and their murders between 8th of August and 9th of November 1888 are often considered the most likely to be linked. The murders were never solved, and the legends surrounding these crimes became a combination of historical research, folklore and pseudohistory, capturing public imagination to the present day.

Farewell, Wild Bill!
James Butler Hickok (May 27, 1837 – August 2, 1876), better known as \”Wild Bill\” Hickok, was a folk hero of the American Old West known for his life on the frontier as a soldier, scout, lawman, cattle rustler, gunslinger, gambler, showman, and actor, and for his involvement in many famous gunfights.
On August 1, 1876, Hickok was playing poker at Nuttal & Mann\’s Saloon No. 10 in Deadwood, Dakota Territory. A seat opened up at the table and a drunk man named Jack McCall sat down to play. McCall lost heavily. Hickok encouraged him to quit the game until he could cover his losses, and offered to give him money for breakfast. McCall accepted the money, but he was apparently insulted.
The next day, Hickok was playing poker again. He usually sat with his back to a wall so that he could see the entrance, but the only seat available when he joined the game was a chair facing away from the door. He twice asked Charles Rich to change seats with him, but Rich refused. McCall then entered the saloon, walked up behind Hickok, drew his Colt Single Action Army .45-caliber revolver, and shouted, \”Take that!\” as he shot Hickok in the back of the head at point-blank range.
Hickok died instantly. The bullet emerged through his right cheek and struck Captain William Massie in the left wrist.
Hickok was playing five-card stud or five-card draw when he was shot. He was holding two pairs: black aces and black eights as his \”up cards\”, which has since become widely known as the \”dead man\’s hand\”.

Colt 1860 Army Prototype Cartridge Conversion
Manufactured in 1863. This is a very rare Colt factory, experimental cartridge conversion revolver. The revolver has a three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. A .44 caliber cylinder has been installed, the hammer has been converted to rimfire with an integral firing pin, the original upper hammer slot filled and cut for the rimfire hammer and the recoil shield machined for loading. There is no loading gate, but the cylinder is out of time so that the cartridges do not fall out of the cylinder.
This gun is a show of craftsmanshift, not made by a factory or an assembling line, but a gunsmith who knew what he was doing.

🗣 Final Words Of The Day 🗣
Yes, i know technically Hickok didnt die today, but i really love him and i missed his death anniversary. -

Fun Fact: did you know that if in RDR2, after getting the broken pirate sword you go to the Saint Denis gunsmith and click on your hunting knife under the “customize” section, but dont actually change anything, you’ll get the sabre replacing your knife on your tool belt?
I found this out the other day while making a 7th Cavalry outfit for Arthur, it makes it so much better honestly. - Load More
