“We were introduced to the film by one of the lead actors who advised us to “strap ourselves in”, which I think was good advice. It does depict some horrific things done by humans to other humans, and a few people walked out of the screening in the first 10 minutes because by far the worst scenes are at the start.”

“i do genuienly believe this movie might be one of the most faithfuls of the 18th century i have ever showcased, the fact that the characters and the people in the movie are constantly commiting crimes and sins greater than any human could stomach under a false belief of “society” without even turning an eye is horryifingly accurate to how real life was, especially the scene where Claire’s baby is killled.
Call me soft, i don’t care, but i really couldn’t stomach the scene, i just couldn’t, i had to drop the movie and come back the next day, and even then i couldn’t help but cry.
I have a baby brother myself, and i could never imagine somebody hurting a beacon of pure innocence that is a baby, it’s horrible to think that things like these happened historically, and the movie does a great job at making you feel the helplesness of Clarie at all times.”
