Everyone has their own awful beginnings, usually you just want to quit the circle head habit, and make details even on whole thing. So in your case, just simplify it.

When you will take things more and more seriously you’ll get to stuff like shading with not just black colors, using brushes at times you know you need to use them and just generally improve.

So keep going with what your going, admit you suck and just challenge yourself to improve on this. Kinda what I did trying to 1up myself each time with countless experiments and practice. Worked out for me.
