Thanks, dude! I just drew randomly and made this quick sketch. I do encourage originality, and not being afraid about things like “is my character going to be popular”, but rather “is my character going to stand out?” That’s why I did so many redesigns of my characters, exploring new ideas, and from several different inspirations. An easy way to design a character on SN is to just have the idea come naturally when you sketch in on paper, and then tweak and/or add on to it in the final product. It doesn’t have to be 100% something we’ve never seen before, but taking inspirations from things and incorporating them into a character is important. When I drew this, I thought of Kohei Horikoshi’s sketches and Bakugo from his manga media monster of a series. One of my characters, Helvete, is basically a mix of Liu Kang, Reptile, Bakugo (again), and a bit of subconsciously borrowed elements from Link (long sideburns, specifically). It’s the combination/unity of all these things that matter.
I completely went on a ramble-session there. Whoops

    • you dont need to be official to be called an artist

    • I would argue that sketching is a kind of art, therefore making whom as produced sketches an artist. An artist can be called an artist if they do it as a hobby, or a job. Or both, especially. An artist makes art.
