So, first, you need to imagine the first time you booted up the game. You click “start” and start playing the game.
You play the game more as the main character (Niko…duh…) and you progress. You start to grow attached to Niko. You start to really connect with and feel the way they do.
You play some more, trying to make your way through this world. You soon find you are at the end of your journey. All you have to do is either return the sun and everything will be alright! …but…there is another option…you could just quit the game…and you’ve spent so many hours on this…it’s getting late…
You go to the menu and start the quit the game. You see a message that says “Niko won’t make it.” You quit the game anyway, little do you know that you’re going to regret it.
After having a good night’s sleep, you immediately boot up your computer and open the game up again…
You stare at the screen as it shows you the scarf and hat of Niko.
You notice how depressing that looks, but you don’t think anything of it.
You click start and…

“You killed Niko.”
You’ve failed. All of your progress for nothing. You ignorantly quit the game despite its many warnings. Niko, the character you’ve grown to love is dead and you can’t do anything about it.
