I apologize if this is rude to ask, but whereabouts are you living where you need to gather wood for winter? the UK is 90% towns and city’s so this is like unheard to me unless you live somewhat off grid
Nah its all good lol, we recently moved from east coast of the U.S to the inner Appalachians.
Back where I used to live we were already a bit far off in the woods, but were like 5 minutes from town (which was kinda big) and used an oil burner. Here, it’s about half an hour to the nearest city lol
The reason we’re using wood is because we have a big property with lots of lumber so it’s practically free minus the fuel costs (and me being a bumbling idiot.) Propane heating was technically affordable but we’d just rather not spend that money. We’re not off grid, just kinda far from most places that aren’t unincorporated towns.
