Didn’t understand what all the craze was about the Caretakers ‘At the end of everything’ album, upon looking it up it’s meant to represent Dementia and losing memory, each hour supposedly characterising the 6 stages of dementia and losing one’s memory.
Apparently the album is quite an interesting listen as it sounds nostalgic but also unique, it’s been considered quite empty and like a void but is still fun to listen to. I quote someone roughly on that.
Thought this might help anyone trying to understand the appeal and attraction to the album.

Personally the appeal has to do with the album itself just being a masterpiece , most touching piece of music in a long time
Alzheimer’s and dementia stand as some of my biggest fears as a whole to the point where personally it doesn’t feel like it’s worth going through if worst is to come
The changes made to turn what were nigh century old masterpieces from a generation that’s succumbing to its near end , to a grueling torturous and bleak 6 and a half hours of pure anguish , representing multiple stages detailed
Best representations within the albums is HeartAches , a song by the old musician Al Bowly
From listening to his original song , and then traversing your way to Leyland Kirby’s beautiful yet abombinal retellings of sorts
It’s just a burning memory ,what does it matter how my heart breaks , and heart breaks , burning despair does ache ,aching cavern without lucidity, mournful camaraderie , and up to the Post Awareness segments
It shows the decline from what could be old yet lively people who still are at their happiest , to husk who are at their mentally loneliest possible , not even being able to known who they themselves are , the album stands personally as the most dreadful , even dwarf If the likes of Numblife and Body count (imo ofc)
