i think one time in a video like two years ago or something uhhh someone described being trans as just choosing to be a different gender (context they were talking about a video from a storytime channel about a person being born both genders) so like
that’s been making me think for quite a while
i have no idea the accuracy of that description, it sure don’t help explain anything to me because it was the most nondescript thing I’ve heard in my life
it was like someone entered a “most nondescript description” contest and they were determined to win, they promised their meemaw and peepaw they’d win the “most nondescript description” contest
and it’s not like i can just use google to confirm the legitimacy of this description, how do i even type out the question “hey google uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh burger?”
tl;dr what in the cungadero is “being trans is choosing to be a different gender” supposed to mean and furthermore: how accurate is it
(also +20 brownie points for whoever is able to explain it in a way that i can understand)

how the hell is it that hard to understand, you can literally just search on google what is transgender and get a clear explanation from there
To start, you don’t choose to be trans, it’s with you at birth, similar to being gay (or any other sexuality) the thing about it is, it takes time to figure it out. As a trans person I went through a lot to figure out that I was trans.
Being trans is essentially feeling like you’re stuck in the body of the wrong gender. I look like a male but inside I am a female. I have a penis, but that doesn’t mean I am a male. Mentally, I am a woman.
Hopefully this helps. I’m not the best at clarifying.
ah ok
so the guy who said “being trans is just choosing to be a different gender” was just someone who has a room temperature iq (celsius)
Yeah anyone who says “trans is a choice” is not very smart
