Don’t see how it affects you so why should you care.

To smoke or have a drinking problem is seen as a ‘tough guy cool adult’ thing to do, clearly it is not but he done it to earn more respect around here, to say you’re older than you actually are earns respect purely because everyone else thinks you’re much wiser but wisdom isn’t necessarily bound to just age.

Wisdom and age aside I personally judge users and people from the aspirations, convictions, methods, enjoyments and achievements. If someone were to just be really good at something and have achievements, but still be quite a cold harsh person, their achievements wouldn’t overrule this and I wouldn’t be too fond of them.

I say to lie about your age here comes down to earning respect because of wisdom but skill as well, personality development and how they handle situations.
