I can’t tell if this was made with sticknodes or not.
He probably used a background colour and Use green screen (not probably Green screen because it would ruin sonic’s eyes) and placed a small white rectangle for the background layer.

It is made from sticknodes. I actually used the default stickfigure for the background. I made it transparent exporting the images with the transparent background and edited the frames in a gif making app. That’s really how i did it.
