may i suggest tho, regardless what you make, the best backgrounds in my opinions have 2 aspects

1) wide/large amount of space to pan around a bit
B) some layering/customization/modularness to them

i always enjoyed the idle animations of early games

that and the standing-on-the-edge animations that many games would do too

i’d vote for me
