waterbending is neat but you likely won’t be able to master bloodbending so eh
it’s really a tossup between earthbending and airbending
in regards to both, you also have to figure you won’t be able to master metalbending and flight, respectively, as they are difficult
but i do like the idea of gliding around so airbending it is
this is the only acceptable answer all other opinions are wrong

Firebending has the immediate response of ‘I will burn people’ but practically speaking Fire and manipulation of heat could be incredibly potent. We are literally standing / sitting on a giant ball of hot rock, most of what we see in the universe is stars, giant balls of hot gas.
I’m not saying we would go on some universe purging trip but think about how many problems you could solve by changing the heat of something, the fuel and power capability could be a step in the right direction for potential human evolution. It sounds far fetched but we never put into consideration the limits of the elemental bending.
I’m just saying if we were to think of all the possible solvable problems from manipulation of air, Earth water or fire, fire seems like such a wide-scoped element that could solve many problems with it’s applications, at least if we’re considering it as a ‘heat manipulator’.
yes but in the avatar universe that’s not how firebending is used, it’s just to manifest and manipulate fire in your immediate surroundings, including for some jet boost type of action, or in it’s later stages – lightning
aka its basically for combat, or warmth – that’s about it

Firebending would be useful for keeping your temperature up, warming up objects such as cooking meat, etc. It would also be useful for creating fires, either campfires designed to keep you warm or forest fires, in which people utilize forest fire sometimes to help the environment https://www.fire.ca.gov/media/5425/benifitsoffire.pdf.

this is exactly why I gave my dude literal fire magic
he’s an adventurer, so being able to create campfires and cook food in an instant is pretty handy
and if needed, he could always cauterize any nasty bleeding

if your freezing to death you could make a camp fire quick
if you have weeds in your garden you can just set them ablaze and control the inferno with your garden hose or what ever
you can literally kill anyone you please and noone’s gonna stop you.
