I can see this change backfire
1/2 the thumbnails people submitted over the past year(s) have been attachments in emails (they didn’t know a form existed)
it works fine, its just the form forced people to submit <1mb images
so i often had to resave GIFs to make them smaller, but thats not a big deal
I never knew a thumbnail form was even created, I’ve been submitting images into gmail my whole life
