2020-01-18 14:01:55 UTC anyone with knowledge on the subject, how do other games/apps handle the (fucking gay) notch on some phones like the iPhone X?
I would have to imagine it blocks some UI on other games, like Minecraft etc (maybe not Minecraft but you get what i be getting at)
do they “smartly” detect the phone and change the layout? Give you the option to toggle a new layout? Crop the whole screen inward a little to avoid the notch?

Well most developers have to try and rearrange their game/app to please the iPhone X criteria. Minecraft does have this thing called a safe zone thing where players can adjust it’s size to make sure all intractable ui is accessible by the user. Right now I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro so when I use sticknodes I just switch it to left handed mode and just go on with it. I guess I’m find with it but the grey backdrop sort of bugs me because all that canvas space is just wasted.
hm, yeah, because of the way the menu is, the only real solution is to basically just crop the entire side with the notch in by a few pixels which is unfortunate

thats interesting to know i gotta try MC and see how that handles because i think that’s better than the app trying to detect anything on its own
I like the idea of users being able to customize their own UI. The grey backdrop is my worst enemy
