scummy business practitioners that have turned the Gaming Art into a cheap money printer at the expense of us consumers and our products.
i myself have always wanted to be a game’s developer and these recent times have pushed me harder to do so as to help rid us of these downright filthy business tactics like DLC, In Game Purchases and f**king loot boxes.
i wan’t to make a game where items are unlocked through skill and achievements, through long but satisfying grinds and through incredible feats of skill, i want to bring back the days of Halo 3, Star Wars Battlefront (PS2) and the Ratchet and Clank trilogy.

They need to make steady income to give for the employees. While i find loot box annoying, since it’s random, it’s a lot better than overpriced 1 time deals. Look at Clash Royale, this game is successful. Yet the way to get cards is by boxes, you never know what you’re gonna get, which is pretty exciting.
You mentioned Halo and CoD, they are AAA games, they took a lot of budget to make, that budget goes into the employees to run the servers.

Think of it this way;
There are only ten people in one room, the game production value is 10$. Let’s say 7 of them will only buy the game, the company earns 60$. No one wants to buy the game anymore, they won’t earn enough to run the servers. Which leads us to in-app purchases. And this is why games update, to add more content to keep people playing to buy stuff. Ever seen a offline rpg game update? No right? Unless it’s just bug fix, but bugs are found in beta testing.

Then just make free updates and advertise them well. Ratchet and Clank 2/3 did well and kept going and they had ONLY the base game with zero updates. And besides, why does it have to be an instant success or massive thing.
I think we need to stop pushing new games to gbe the greatest thing out of flashy visuals and instead push more time into making a fun game for all to enjoy
@epitaph200

What about PUBG then, they earned 7,000,000 within a short space of time yet they slapped in loot boxes too.
I don’t believe in this silly ‘they need more’ when it comes to games like CoD or Halo where they already gain more than they need

Just make the main game pricier, advertise it properly and make it as fun as possible rather than the recent trick of just manipulation.
It’s absurd and I won’t accept it.
