One villain trope I’ve seen without fail over the years
They create their own hero
So let’s say prophecy stuff says hero will kill villain. Villiain figures out who said hero is. Sends soldiers to kill him (why do they send minions instead of doing sh:t themselves) and hero escapes to kill villain. So really if the dark lord left hero alone or have him his own private fcking island the villains career would be safe
