It’s the top hair I’m having trouble with if I’m going to add it for the whole leader of an empire look.

That beard looks very smooth almost friendly looking.
Think about it round and smooth shapes are often represented by calm and when you use a rounded beard shape it almost looks like the person would be friendly whereas if you add a more scuffed up look to it and make it longer it will seem more like a ‘leader of the empire look’.
