Alastor won’t kill a child but will discipline or scare one if they annoy him too much. If he was to see an abandoned baby, he would most likely care for it until it has a mind of its own. He also won’t take responsibility if the child accidentally injures itself when he lets them play.
Also his death was related to dogs
He was being chased by dogs in the woods. He hid until a dog bit his leg and made him trip, right into a bullet.
