Well yeah, planning the movement(architecture which I love doing) is very important because you want to make sure it’s posable but not annoyingly posable. Pose ability can really help out with animation. Because I’m having to make sure Rampage has the necessary poses to pull off. The is much more to just what you see as tracing with these Osro design transformers. Planning, architecture, coloring(what the ST would look like from a stick nodes perspective), planning how the shading will be(place certain shapes together to make a certain shading, which a great example of that is the jaw of rampage), studying the movements, how it transform in every piece, etc, etc , etc.

Hmm. I still want to do it(only with transformers), BUT I want to know if it’s wrong to do it even with transformers.

Hey @ralph, even though if I give credit and inspiration to Osro, is it bad and am I a bad person to trace? I’m not wanting to do it forever, because I want to learn from my own original work to get better and better. I still only want to do it with transformers, but I want to know if that’s still bad to do so.

My cousins are coming over again tomorrow so there will be another delay on rampage. I will post this again in the morning.(hey look, I actually did a short post).

Yeah. But they could have made him less chubby and a little more taller.

Ok so here is an example regarding to my other post on how important granite colors are. and also the back ground color can also be important because depending on the ST colors and the color of the back ground, it could really fit with it and bring out that extra detail to make it pop out more.Like for example with this back ground(this is rampage’s vehicle mode window):
And yes, Ik, they look like spot lights.
-
Ok so after Rampage is released and is on this website, I want to show you guys how important shading is by comparing the shaded rampage to a unshaded rampage. Color is also very important but shading(granite color) is very important. It’s not only just making that segment color Dark or light for that granite color, but you also some times want to have Different types of granite colors different from the segment colors to make it more colorful and to make it less bland. Like for example: Devastator’s three yellow figures have different types of yellow, but also has different types of shadings on it to give it a more realistic look to what each vehicle has been through or how different each vehicle has been made. It’s hard to explain, but depending on the stick figure, you want to have a variety of shading. Like I’m working on rampage right now and let’s say if he went through the desert, you may want to add like a brownish, Orange, yellowish color on the wheels or on the bottom section of that vehicle because he was driving through dirt and sand. You don’t only rely on shapes for detail, you also rely on the granite color that goes with that segment color to give it that extra texture/detail. That’s my lesson for today.

Wait so @stuperb6, what is your favorite studio series Constructicon? I will guess that it’s not scrap metal.

Tracing is a very important thing escpecially complex things but i see what your getting here
Hmm. I still want to do it(only with transformers), BUT I want to know if it’s wrong to do it even with transformers.
There is several ways of tracing.
You didnt outline it and just made it static. It operates and that’s great.
Skill is what matters.
Dont worry what people think, I do it.
I got UC for tracing it, but I didnt outline it.
It operates.
That’s what matters
Well yeah technically but hes askin if its good to continue this tracing thing
He can continue until he can learn to do it without looking and tracing.
But still tracing is still usable
Indeed indeed
But that’s what I did sometimes.
I have made a basketball goal without looking
I made a simple flashlight with glares
That is true. Ralph did make it where you can do that, but that does not mean we can get cocky with.
Thats what han solo said

As long as you dont heavily rely on tracing then you’re good.
It doesn’t make you an entirely bad person to trace.
However, you did took Osro’s work regardless of crediting.
But since you’re willing to change and become more original with your figure creation,
it would be a great start to broaden ideas and such for your own original node configurations.
Look, I don’t want to take his work, but I also want people to enjoy the transformers that see from his channel and enjoy to watch. Idk if this will help, but I can only put his name in the submission. Idk, I’m in a pickle.
If you’d like to do something with transformers content, I’d highly advise you to not use someone else’s style when it comes to figure making.
Since there are tons of reference material than just one independent developer.
There’s also a discord for it if you’d like to join and like to get tips and such.
So… should me and mike cancel rampage and I cancel mix master?
It’s entirely up to both of you.
But it’s a good thing to start something original.
Ok… I still want to release both of them, but after them, that’s it. I’ll stop tracing transformers. But it will be awhile before I start making SF again because I’m getting more busy in the summer and school is coming up(oooof).
And ok, that is true, and I got it now, thank you so much.
for this long ass convo (conversation)
Hey, mostly what I needed to hear is that I need to use my own style. Those words are a big impact even though if they are simple and easy to know. Thank you Cdn.
Well its a joke i dont tend to be a serious douche if i want to (escpecially with friends) but if its threatning for you then i get you so sorry for that reply
Ik it’s a joke, and it’s ok. But you are right, it is super long as heck(and that’s wha-)
Well @stuperb6 will be devastated when he sees this news, lol. Sorry Orange ;-;
Well see
*completely devastated D,`≈

I’ll be able to help if needed.
(Along with others.)
Thank you, I’ll think about it
I think it’s hilarious that you blocked Bootlegsnake because he told you not to trace and then immediately made this post
Well yeah, I was mad at first, but then I thought about what he said and then boom(makes post). And now I’m taking Cnd’s advice. So yeah, I do find myself ironic.
… then unblock him
Oh yeah, oooooooooof, I forgot to do that, sorry, my cousins where over today.
not at all, that’s why there’s a background to use in Creation Mode anyway lol
half of SN stickfigures are just stickfigure-versions of some other form of media, usually via tracing or heavily referenced
its where tracing other people’s STICKFIGURES that is a gray area, typically frowned upon
Ohhh ok, thank you for telling me, I feel much better.👍
